My Task: I designed and implemented the last 6 levels (all of the levels apart from the tutorial levels), implemented begin and end screens and solved various bugs that were still in the program. I also helped design the core gameplay.
Global Game Jam 2014’s theme was: “We don’t see things as they are, we see things as we are.” According to that theme we made a game in which you can change your appearance by using the Tab key, which allows you to interact with your surroundings in a completely different way (because every appearance also offers a different skill set).
In this demo, a player can use three forms: the blue square (which allows you to jump), the pink circle (which allows you to bounce) and the white balloon (which allows you to fly while in a specific area). You have to constantly change between these forms to finish a level. There are 9 levels to play in the demo (all made during the global game jam), each more difficult than the one played before. Nearly everyone of the players could finish the game without any outside help. They did require some time though, as especially the last level is a real challenge.
